Pentostatin Side Effects Report #5218764-6
Pentostatin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Jan 11, 2007. Female patient, 49 years of age, was diagnosed with t-cell prolymphocytic leukaemia and was treated with Pentostatin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: pneumonia , pulmonary alveolar haemorrhage, respiratory failure, respiratory syncytial virus infection . Pentostatin dosage: 6.24 MG WEEKLY IV. During the same period patient was treated with CAMPATH, FAMOTIDINE, FLUCONAZOLE, ALLOPURINOL, ALPRAZOLAM, VORICONAZOLE, VALACYCLOVIR. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute respiratory distress syndrome, anaemia, diffuse alveolar damage, hyperglycaemia, hypernatraemia, hypotension, malnutrition, pneumonia , respiratory acidosis. Pentostatin dosage: 6.24 MG WEEKLY IV. During the same period patient was treated with CAMPATH, FAMOTIDINE, FLUCONAZOLE, ALLOPURINOL, ALPRAZOLAM, VORICONAZOLE, VALACYCLOVIR. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 01/19/2007.

Male patient, 25 years of age, was diagnosed with large granular lymphocytosis and was treated with Pentostatin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacteraemia, neutropenia, pneumonia , pneumonia necrotising, serratia infection. Pentostatin dosage: 4 MG/M2 WEEKLY IV. During the same period patient was treated with CAMPATH, MORPHINE, VALTREX, FLAGYL, BACTRIM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 05/06/2005.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: aspiration, chest pain , hypotension, lung infiltration, pneumonia , pseudomonal bacteraemia, renal failure, urine output decreased. Pentostatin dosage: 16 MG. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 07/14/2007.
