Panhematin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Aug 07, 2006. Female patient was diagnosed with porphyria acute and was treated with Panhematin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: catheter related complication, platelet count decreased, serum ferritin increased. Panhematin dosage: 180 MG; BIW; IV. During the same period patient was treated with MORPHINE. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 32 years of age, weighting 226.0 lb, was diagnosed with porphyria and was treated with Panhematin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood pressure fluctuation, body temperature increased, c-reactive protein increased, catheter related complication, catheter site erythema, catheter site haemorrhage, catheter site infection, catheter site pain, catheter site related reaction. Panhematin dosage: 312 MG; QD; IV. During the same period patient was treated with LEXAPRO, ALLEGRA, LORTAB, CIMETIDINE, COMPAZINE, CLARINEX, ATIVAN, ELAVIL. Patient recovered.
