Oxytocin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from NETHERLANDS on Nov 19, 2008. Female patient, 33 years of age, was diagnosed with artificial rupture of membranes and was treated with Oxytocin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hysterectomy , laparotomy, postpartum haemorrhage, sciatic nerve neuropathy, therapeutic embolisation, uterine atony. Oxytocin dosage: unknown. Patient recovered.

Oxytocin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from INDIA on Feb 17, 2009. Female patient, 32 years of age, was treated with Oxytocin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: disseminated intravascular coagulation, haemorrhage, hysterectomy , laparotomy, mechanical ventilation, postpartum haemorrhage, splenectomy, splenic artery aneurysm, uterine atony. Oxytocin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ERGOMETRINE, CARBOPROST. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
