Oxytocin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from INDIA on Jan 03, 2007. Female patient, 26 years of age, was diagnosed with premature rupture of membranes and was treated with Oxytocin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood sodium decreased, central venous pressure increased, dyspnoea, face oedema, heart rate increased, orthopnoea, oxygen saturation decreased, pco2 decreased, po2 decreased. Oxytocin dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Oxytocin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from TURKEY on Apr 29, 2008. Female patient, 35 years of age, was diagnosed with haemorrhage and was treated with Oxytocin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest What is  cardiac arrest, circulatory collapse, haematocrit decreased, heart rate increased, hyperhidrosis, hypotension, hysterectomy What is  hysterectomy, laparotomy. Oxytocin dosage: unknown. Patient died.
