Nitrofurantoin Side Effects Report #5532808-3
Nitrofurantoin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Nov 30, 2007. Female patient, 79 years of age, weighting 138.9 lb, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection  and was treated with Nitrofurantoin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, blood creatinine increased, blood urea increased, chills, hepatitis , pain , pruritus. Nitrofurantoin dosage: 100MG TWICE DAILY PO. During the same period patient was treated with ESOMEPRAZOLE, OXYBUTYNIN CHLORIDE, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, ASPIRIN, CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE, VALSARTAN, ATORVASTATIN, GLUCOSAMINE. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient recovered.
