Niacin side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on June 12, 2006. Male patient, 68 years of age, was diagnosed with hypercholesterolaemia, transient ischaemic attack and was treated with Niacin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain What is  abdominal pain, alanine aminotransferase increased, anorexia, ascites, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, body temperature decreased, chromaturia. Niacin dosage: 500 MG TID PO. During the same period patient was treated with ECOTRIN, VITAMIN, VIT C. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bilirubin conjugated increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, carbohydrate antigen 19-9 increased, gamma-glutamyltransferase increased, jaundice What is  jaundice, weight decreased. Niacin dosage: 2000 MG DAILY PO. During the same period patient was treated with ASPIRIN. Patient recovered.
