Nevirapine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Feb 14, 2008. Male patient, 59 years of age, weighting 152.1 lb, was diagnosed with hiv infection  and was treated with Nevirapine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, deep vein thrombosis , dementia , hepatic enzyme increased, hyperbilirubinaemia, jaundice , pancytopenia, pruritus, pyrexia. Nevirapine dosage: 200MG BID PO. During the same period patient was treated with LAMIVUDINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Nevirapine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with STAVUDINE, LAMIVUDINE, ACYCLOVIR, ANTITUBERCULAR AGENTS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood hiv rna increased , hepatitis , hepatotoxicity, jaundice , rash , transaminases increased. Nevirapine dosage: STARTED WITH 200 MG ONCE DAILY FOR 2 WEEKS, WITH A SUBSEQUENT INCREASE TO 200 MG TWICE DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with NUCLEOSIDE REVERSE TRANSCRIPTASE INHIBITORS, METHADONE. Patient recovered.
