Mucomyst Side Effects Report #4807006-9
Mucomyst side effect was reported by a Physician from AUSTRALIA on Sept 14, 2005. Male patient, 79 years of age, was diagnosed with nephropathy toxic, endocarditis  and was treated with Mucomyst. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: accidental overdose, incorrect dose administered, multi-organ failure. Mucomyst dosage: PRESCRIBED DOSE OF 600MG, BUT RECEIVED 3 GRAMS AS TOTAL DOSE.. During the same period patient was treated with CEFTRIAXONE, ACETAMINOPHEN, ATENOLOL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: incorrect dose administered, no adverse effect, overdose. Mucomyst dosage: WAS SUPPOSED TO GET 600 MG TWICE DAILY FOR 3 DOSES, BUT TOOK TOTAL OF 18 GRAMS. Patient recovered.
