Mitoxantrone side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE on Oct 13, 2005. Female patient, 51 years of age, was diagnosed with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis and was treated with Mitoxantrone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute myeloid leukaemia, lung disorder, septic shock. Mitoxantrone dosage: 20 MG,. During the same period patient was treated with AZATHIOPRINE, INTERFERON BETA. Patient died on 12/13/2001.

Female patient, 51 years of age, was diagnosed with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis and was treated with Mitoxantrone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute myeloid leukaemia, anaemia, chromosome abnormality, haemorrhagic disorder, lung disorder, neutropenia, septic shock, thrombocytopenia. Mitoxantrone dosage: 20 MG. During the same period patient was treated with AZATHIOPRINE, INTERFERON BETA. Patient died on 12/13/2001.

Male patient, 74 years of age, was diagnosed with bladder cancer  and was treated with Mitoxantrone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute promyelocytic leukaemia, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, septic shock. Mitoxantrone dosage: 60 MG/M2 TOTAL. During the same period patient was treated with MITOMYCIN. Patient recovered.
