Metopirone side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from JAPAN on May 31, 2006. Female patient, 75 years of age, was diagnosed with ectopic acth syndrome and was treated with Metopirone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: carcinoid tumour pulmonary, pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia. Metopirone dosage: 750 MG/DAY. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, c-reactive protein increased, carcinoid tumour pulmonary, gamma-glutamyltransferase increased, hepatic function abnormal, pneumonia , pyrexia. Metopirone dosage: 750 MG/D. During the same period patient was treated with ALDACTONE, SIGMART, DEPAKENE, ALOSENN, MICARDIS, NORVASC, ZYLORIC. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
