Methyldopa side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Feb 09, 2009. Female patient, 32 years of age, weighting 157.0 lb, was diagnosed with prehypertension and was treated with Methyldopa. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: back pain , chest pain , hypoaesthesia, muscular weakness. Methyldopa dosage: 250MG BID PO. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 37 years of age, weighting 332.0 lb, was diagnosed with hypertension and was treated with Methyldopa. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute hepatic failure, alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, back pain , blood pressure increased, hepatic necrosis, klebsiella sepsis, liver transplant , multi-organ failure. Methyldopa dosage: 250 MG TID PO. Patient died on 01/20/2009.
