Methimazole side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on Mar 13, 2006. Male patient, 50 years of age, was diagnosed with basedow's disease and was treated with Methimazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: c-reactive protein increased, cytomegalovirus infection What is  cytomegalovirus infection, dermatitis exfoliative, hepatic function abnormal, herpes virus infection, lung infiltration, pneumonia pneumococcal, pyrexia. Methimazole dosage: 30 MG, TID. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
