Methimazole side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Dec 19, 2007. Male patient, 91 years of age, weighting 169.0 lb, was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was treated with Methimazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, movement disorder , muscular weakness, oedema peripheral, thrombocytopenia. Methimazole dosage: 5MG EVERY DAY PO. During the same period patient was treated with DIPYRIDAMOLE, TOLTERODINE TARTRATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 54 years of age, weighting 202.8 lb, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was treated with Methimazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, pneumonia , pulmonary alveolar haemorrhage. Methimazole dosage: 10 MG DAILY PO. During the same period patient was treated with TOPROL, WARFARIN, ASPIRIN, PRILOSEC, KETEK. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
