Methimazole side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Nov 17, 2006. Male patient, 42 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was treated with Methimazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, basedow's disease, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, hyperbilirubinaemia, post procedural complication, transaminases increased. Methimazole dosage: 30 MG Q6HR-IV. During the same period patient was treated with HYDROCORTISONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, anti-hbs antibody positive, antinuclear antibody positive, aspartate aminotransferase increased, bilirubin conjugated increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, cholecystitis, chromaturia. Methimazole dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with HYZAAR. Patient recovered.
