Female patient, 83 years of age, was diagnosed with pain , cough, depression  and was treated with Methadone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood urea increased, confusional state, decreased appetite, dehydration, delirium, depressed mood, disturbance in attention, fall . Methadone dosage: HIGH 20MG/D DECR TO 10MG/D THEN TAPERED TO DISCONTINUE. During the same period patient was treated with GUAIFENESIN W, SERTRALINE, ESCITALOPRAM, HYDROCODONE W, IPRATROPIUM BROMIDE, METOCLOPRAMIDE, METOLAZONE, WARFARIN. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient recovered.
