Male patient, 53 years of age, weighting 250.9 lb, was diagnosed with change of bowel habit and was treated with Metamucil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, anorexia, blood potassium decreased, burning sensation, cholecystitis, constipation , discomfort, diverticulum, dyspepsia. Metamucil dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ANTIHYPERTENSIVES, TOPROL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
