Male patient, 39 years of age, was diagnosed with colitis ulcerative and was treated with Mesalazine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood albumin decreased, c-reactive protein increased, cardiac murmur, cardiomegaly, chest pain
, colitis ulcerative, mitral valve incompetence, myopericarditis, pyrexia. Mesalazine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with METHYLPREDNISOLONE, HEPARIN, CALCIUM, ENTERAL NUTRITION, VITAMIN D. Patient was hospitalized. Mesalazine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from BELGIUM on Jan 17, 2007. Female patient, child 11 years of age, was treated with Mesalazine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, colitis ulcerative, condition aggravated, inflammation, leukocyturia, nephritis interstitial, no therapeutic response, proteinuria. Mesalazine dosage: 1500 (500 MG, 3 IN 1 D). Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
