Mesalamine side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on May 03, 2008. Female patient, 42 years of age, was diagnosed with colitis ulcerative and was treated with Mesalamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac enzymes increased, chest pain , dyspnoea, ejection fraction decreased, electrocardiogram st segment elevation, hypokinesia, left ventricular dysfunction, mitral valve incompetence, myocarditis. Mesalamine dosage: 800 MG TID. During the same period patient was treated with BENAZEPRIL HYDROCHLORIDE, METFORMIN, CLONAZEPAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: electrocardiogram st segment elevation, left ventricular dysfunction, mitral valve incompetence, myocarditis, pulmonary hypertension , viral myocarditis. Mesalamine dosage: (800 MG TID). During the same period patient was treated with BENAZEPRIL HYDROCHLORIDE, METFORMIN, CLONAZEPAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Mesalamine side effect was reported by a Physician from GERMANY on Jan 29, 2009. Female patient, child 12 years of age, was diagnosed with colitis ulcerative and was treated with Mesalamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: left ventricular dysfunction, myocarditis. Mesalamine dosage: 2000 MG (2 X 750 MG AND 1 X 500 MG (3 IN 1 D), ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with METRONIDAZOLE, RULOFER, NUROFEN, ACETAMINOPHEN, CLINOLEIC, SPICEF. Patient recovered.
