Mesalamine Side Effects Report #5881531-4
Mesalamine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Aug 27, 2008. Female patient, 29 years of age, was diagnosed with crohn's disease  and was treated with Mesalamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood bilirubin increased, blood lactate dehydrogenase increased, fatigue, haemoglobin decreased, nausea . Mesalamine dosage: 4000 MILLIGRAM(S) , ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with MERCAPTOPURINE, CLIDINIUM BROMIDE, CHLORDUAZEPOXIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Mesalamine dosage: (2000 MG BID). During the same period patient was treated with MERCAPTOPURINE, PREDNISONE, CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE, CLIDINIUM BROMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: antinuclear antibody positive, cryptogenic organising pneumonia, haemoglobin decreased, pleural effusion. Mesalamine dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: haemoglobin decreased, platelet count decreased, rectal haemorrhage. Mesalamine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with STEROIDS NOS, GLEEVEC. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 05/27/2006.

Mesalamine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with DICLOFENAC, CEFOTAXIME, HYDROCORTISONE, METRONIDAZOLE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
