Mercaptopurine Side Effects Report #4548795-0
Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from on Jan 07, 2005. Female patient, 41 years of age, was diagnosed with crohn's disease  and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: pneumonia , sepsis . Mercaptopurine dosage: 50MG BID ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with PENTASA, ZANTAC, ZOLOFT. Patient died on 01/02/2005.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: autoimmune hepatitis, hepatosplenomegaly, pancytopenia, sepsis , t-cell lymphoma. Mercaptopurine dosage: 50-75 MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with INFLIXIMAB, MESALAMINE, PREDNISONE, HYDROCORTISONE, METRONIDAZOLE. Patient died.

Mercaptopurine dosage: 75 MG; QD/4.5 YEARS. During the same period patient was treated with INFLIXIMAB, PREDNISONE, HYDROCORTISONE, MESALAMINE, METRONIDAZOLE, CORTICOSTERIODS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
