Mercaptopurine Side Effects Report #5348120-1
Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on May 30, 2007. Female patient, 23 years of age, weighting 127.9 lb, was diagnosed with crohn's disease  and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: pancytopenia, pyrexia. Mercaptopurine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with MESALAMINE, PREDNISOLONE. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 17 years of age, was diagnosed with crohn's disease  and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: autoimmune hepatitis, hepatosplenomegaly, pancytopenia, sepsis , t-cell lymphoma. Mercaptopurine dosage: 50-75 MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with INFLIXIMAB, MESALAMINE, PREDNISONE, HYDROCORTISONE, METRONIDAZOLE. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: autoimmune hepatitis, condition aggravated, hepatosplenomegaly, pancytopenia, sepsis , t-cell lymphoma, vein disorder, white blood cell count decreased. Mercaptopurine dosage: 75 MG; QD/4.5 YEARS. During the same period patient was treated with INFLIXIMAB, PREDNISONE, HYDROCORTISONE, MESALAMINE, METRONIDAZOLE, CORTICOSTERIODS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
