Mercaptopurine Side Effects Report #5110092-2
Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Sept 19, 2006. Male patient, 82 years of age, weighting 127.9 lb, was diagnosed with colitis ulcerative, crohn's disease  and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, blood albumin decreased, duodenal ulcer, duodenal ulcer haemorrhage, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, haematocrit decreased, hypotension, intestinal perforation, leukocytosis. Mercaptopurine dosage: 50 MG DAILY PO. During the same period patient was treated with MESALAMINE SA, PREDNISONE, OMEPRAZOLE, RANITIDINE, CIPROFLOXACIN, METRONIDAZOLE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
