Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Oct 17, 2008. Male patient, 18 years of age, was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, cystinosis, fanconi syndrome, corneal deposits and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: condition aggravated, renal cell carcinoma, renal failure, renal failure chronic. Mercaptopurine dosage: 50MG. During the same period patient was treated with CYSTEAMINE, ELECTROLYTE REPLACEMENT, ELECTROLYTE REPLACEMENT. Patient recovered.

Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on June 28, 2005. Female patient, 17 years of age, was diagnosed with crohn's disease  and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: autoimmune hepatitis, condition aggravated, hepatosplenomegaly, pancytopenia, sepsis , t-cell lymphoma, vein disorder, white blood cell count decreased. Mercaptopurine dosage: 75 MG; QD/4.5 YEARS. During the same period patient was treated with INFLIXIMAB, PREDNISONE, HYDROCORTISONE, MESALAMINE, METRONIDAZOLE, CORTICOSTERIODS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Mercaptopurine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PREDNISONE, CYCLOSPORINE, MESALAMINE. Patient recovered.
