Mercaptopurine Side Effects Report #4967159-9
Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Mar 23, 2006. Female patient, 71 years of age, was diagnosed with crohn's disease  and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abasia, asthenia, body temperature decreased, brain mass, coordination abnormal, decreased appetite, diffuse large b-cell lymphoma, epstein-barr virus test positive, facial palsy. Mercaptopurine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with REMICADE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Mercaptopurine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with REMICADE, MESALAMINE, PANTOPRAZOLE, LOSARTAN, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, LOPERAMIDE, ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE, INSULIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Mercaptopurine dosage: 50 MILLIGRAM ORAL. Patient recovered.

Mercaptopurine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ASACOL, NEXIUM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, blood albumin decreased, duodenal ulcer, duodenal ulcer haemorrhage, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, haematocrit decreased, hypotension, intestinal perforation, leukocytosis. Mercaptopurine dosage: 50 MG DAILY PO. During the same period patient was treated with MESALAMINE SA, PREDNISONE, OMEPRAZOLE, RANITIDINE, CIPROFLOXACIN, METRONIDAZOLE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
