Mercaptopurine Side Effects Report #6065655-7
Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Physician from NEW ZEALAND on Jan 20, 2009. Female patient, 33 years of age, was diagnosed with retroperitoneal fibrosis, desmoid tumour, fibromatosis and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , alanine aminotransferase increased, ascites, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood albumin decreased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, disease progression, gamma-glutamyltransferase increased. Mercaptopurine dosage: 100 MG; QD. During the same period patient was treated with TAMOXIFEN CITRATE, TAMOXIFEN CITRATE, SPIRONOLACTONE, FUROSEMIDE, NADOLOL, PARACETAMOL, MORPHINE, METOCLOPRAMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with NEXIUM, PREDNISONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , abdominal sepsis, candidiasis, enterococcal infection, gallbladder necrosis, gastric perforation, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, haemodynamic instability, large intestine perforation. Mercaptopurine dosage: 75 MG (75 MG, 1 IN 1 D). During the same period patient was treated with INFLIXIMAB, CORTICOSTEROIDS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
