Mercaptamine Side Effects Report #5928330-2
Mercaptamine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE on Oct 06, 2008. Female patient, child 12 years of age, was diagnosed with cystinosis and was treated with Mercaptamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: amnesia, anaemia, cerebral atrophy, convulsion, encephalopathy, gastrointestinal disorder, gastrooesophageal reflux disease, haemodialysis, neurological decompensation. Mercaptamine dosage: 44 MG/KG;DAILY; 89 MG/KG;DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, LAMOTRIGINE, PHENYTOIN , RANITIDINE, NIFEDIPINE, THYROXINE . Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Mercaptamine side effect was reported by a Physician from FRANCE on Nov 19, 2007. Male patient, child 11 years of age, was diagnosed with cystinosis and was treated with Mercaptamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anuria, blood creatinine increased, blood potassium increased, coma, convulsion, csf protein increased, electroencephalogram abnormal, haemodialysis, herpes virus infection. Mercaptamine dosage: 160 MG. During the same period patient was treated with CALCIDIA, EPOGEN, GROWTH HORMONE, POTASSIUM BICARBONATE, CYSTEAMINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, diabetes mellitus, haemodialysis, myopathy, skin discolouration, skin disorder, x-ray limb abnormal. Mercaptamine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, INSULIN, INSULIN ISOPHANE BOVINE, SOMATROPIN, CALCIDIOL, EPOETIN BETA, SACCHARATED IRON OXIDE. Patient recovered.
