Mercaptamine side effect was reported by a Physician from NETHERLANDS on Mar 29, 2008. Female patient, child 9 years of age, was diagnosed with cystinosis and was treated with Mercaptamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: amnesia, dementia , depression , disturbance in attention, educational problem, emotional disorder, intelligence test abnormal, irritability, memory impairment. Mercaptamine dosage: 50 MG/K5. Patient recovered.

Mercaptamine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE on Oct 06, 2008. Female patient, child 12 years of age, was diagnosed with cystinosis and was treated with Mercaptamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: amnesia, anaemia, cerebral atrophy, convulsion, encephalopathy, gastrointestinal disorder, gastrooesophageal reflux disease, haemodialysis, neurological decompensation. Mercaptamine dosage: 44 MG/KG;DAILY; 89 MG/KG;DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, LAMOTRIGINE, PHENYTOIN , RANITIDINE, NIFEDIPINE, THYROXINE . Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
