Meperidine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Jan 26, 2006. Male patient, 83 years of age, weighting 152.1 lb, was diagnosed with sedation and was treated with Meperidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatine phosphokinase increased, fall , mental status changes. Meperidine dosage: 50MG IV ONCE. During the same period patient was treated with MIDAZOLAM, ACETAMINOPHEN, ASPIRIN, ENALAPRIL MALEATE, FERROUS SULPHATE, MIRTAZAPINE, TERAZOSIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 55 years of age, weighting 145.0 lb, was diagnosed with pain , nausea  and was treated with Meperidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , cardio-respiratory arrest, convulsion, diarrhoea, fall , irritable bowel syndrome , loss of consciousness, nausea . Meperidine dosage: 100 MG Q3H IV. During the same period patient was treated with PROMETHAZINE, INDERAL, LEXAPRO, IMITREX, AMBIEN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: confusional state, fall , grand mal convulsion, hyponatraemia, postictal state, tongue biting. Meperidine dosage: 25MG ONCE IV. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: agitation, bronchopneumonia, condition aggravated, confusional state, contraindication to medical treatment, fall , hyperpyrexia, respiratory arrest, restlessness. Meperidine dosage: 25 MG; ONCE; IM. During the same period patient was treated with PHENELZINE, PERCODAN, ERYTHROMYCIN, CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 03/01/1984.
