Meperidine and dyspnoea Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Meperidine Side Effects Report #5234499-8
Meperidine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Feb 08, 2007. Female patient, 81 years of age, weighting 111.6 lb, was diagnosed with pain , infection  and was treated with Meperidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anxiety , blood pressure systolic increased, blood sodium decreased, convulsion, dyspnoea, eye rolling, gaze palsy, loss of consciousness, tremor. Meperidine dosage: 50MG 2 DOSES IV BOLUS. During the same period patient was treated with CIPROFLOXACIN. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: confusional state, dyspnoea, hypoventilation, oxygen saturation decreased, respiratory rate decreased. Meperidine dosage: 12.5 -25 MG Q2H PRN IV. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anxiety , blood pressure systolic increased, culture wound positive, dyspepsia, dyspnoea, enterobacter infection, heart rate increased, hypotension, myocardial infarction. Meperidine dosage: unknown. Patient recovered.

Meperidine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from on Apr 13, 2005. Male patient, 59 years of age, weighting 207.9 lb, was treated with Meperidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: dyspnoea. Meperidine dosage: 100 MG, Q4H IV PUSH. During the same period patient was treated with HUMULIN R, HEPARIN, DIPHENHYDRAMINE, FENTANYL CITRATE, TRAZODONE, THERAPEUTIC VITAMIN W, SIMVASTATIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
