Meperidine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Sept 16, 2004. Male patient, 53 years of age, weighting 164.9 lb, was diagnosed with pain  and was treated with Meperidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: disorientation. Meperidine dosage: 3 TABLETS EVERY 5 TO 6 HOURS AS NEEDED (100 MG, AS REQUIRED), PO. During the same period patient was treated with VALIUM, NYSTATIN. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: breakthrough pain, disorientation, illusion, paranoia, platelet count increased, respiratory rate increased, serotonin syndrome, white blood cell count increased, wound infection. Meperidine dosage: 230 MG TOTAL OVER 8 HOURS, PARENTERAL. During the same period patient was treated with CITALOPRAM HYDROBROMIDE, HYDROMORPHONE, HYDROCODONE BITARTRATE, PROMETHAZINE, GATIFLOXACIN, ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE, LANSOPRAZOLE, ENOXAPARIN. Patient recovered.
