Macrobid side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Apr 14, 2006. Female patient, 90 years of age, weighting 130.0 lb, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection  and was treated with Macrobid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: fall , hepatic failure. Macrobid dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with NITROFURANTOIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 03/27/2006.

Female patient, 81 years of age, weighting 160.1 lb, was diagnosed with cystitis, sleep disorder  and was treated with Macrobid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood glucose increased, fall , feeling cold, loss of consciousness, rash , urticaria. Macrobid dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with TRAZODONE, LISINOPRIL, GLIPIZIDE, METFORMIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 69 years of age, weighting 176.4 lb, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection  and was treated with Macrobid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: ammonia increased, arrhythmia , asthenia, depressed level of consciousness, fall , gait disturbance, hepatitis acute, jaundice cholestatic. Macrobid dosage: 100 MG BID PO. During the same period patient was treated with HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, SINEMET, BENZTROPINE MESYLATE, GABAPENTIN, PEPCID, ZYPREXA, TEGRETOL. Patient recovered.
