Linezolid Side Effects Report #5927533-0
Linezolid side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Oct 21, 2008. Male patient, 81 years of age, weighting 172.0 lb, was diagnosed with staphylococcal infection  and was treated with Linezolid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: neutropenia, pneumonia aspiration, sepsis , shock, thrombocytopenia, urinary tract infection . Linezolid dosage: 600 MG DAILY PO, PRIOR TO ADMISSION. During the same period patient was treated with ATENOLOL, OMEPRAZOLE, ASCORBIC ACID, ZINC SULPHATE, NAPROXEN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 81 years of age, weighting 187.4 lb, was diagnosed with pneumonia staphylococcal and was treated with Linezolid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: neutropenia, thrombocytopenia. Linezolid dosage: 600MG Q12H INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with VANCOMYCIN, CASPOFUNGIN, FUROSEMIDE, HEPARIN, HYDROCORTISONE, INSULIN, LORAZEPAM, LEVOFLOXACIN. Patient died on 03/15/2005.

Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with INSULIN ASPART, VALGANCICLOVIR, PREDNISONE, NYSTATIN, FOLIC ACID, MAG OXIDE, CACO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
