Linezolid Side Effects Report #5259125-3
Linezolid side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED KINGDOM on Feb 24, 2007. Male patient, 77 years of age, weighting 160.9 lb, was diagnosed with staphylococcal infection , prophylaxis, stress ulcer, atrial fibrillation , deep vein thrombosis  and was treated with Linezolid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, liver function test abnormal, renal failure acute. Linezolid dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PANTOPRAZOLE, ZOTON, AMIODARONE HYDROCHLORIDE, FLUCLOXACILLIN, HEPARIN. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 77 years of age, weighting 160.9 lb, was diagnosed with staphylococcal infection , prophylaxis and was treated with Linezolid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, international normalised ratio increased, liver function test abnormal, renal failure acute, staphylococcal infection . Linezolid dosage: 1200 MG (600 MG, 2 IN 1 D). During the same period patient was treated with LANSOPAZOLE, PANTOPRAZOLE, FLUCLOXACILLIN, TEICOPLANIN, TAZOCIN, AMIODARONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, cardiac arrest , cardiac ventricular disorder, confusional state, hypertension, lactic acidosis, liver disorder, mental status changes. Linezolid dosage: 1200 MG (600 MG, BID). During the same period patient was treated with CITALOPRAM, PREDNISONE, METHOTREXATE, DIGOXIN, GLYCERYL TRINITRATE, DORASEMIDE, INSULIN, OXAZEPAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased. Linezolid dosage: 600 MG IV EVERY 12 HOUR. During the same period patient was treated with PIPERACILLIN AND TAZOBACTAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Linezolid dosage: 100 MG /50 ML IV Q 8 HR. Patient recovered.
