Leflunomide Side Effects Report #4694199-X
Leflunomide side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from on June 16, 2005. Male patient, 69 years of age, weighting 185.2 lb, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis  and was treated with Leflunomide. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute myocardial infarction, chronic hepatitis, hepatic failure, hepatitis b , renal failure acute. Leflunomide dosage: 20 MG SC DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with METHOTREXATE. Patient died on 02/20/2005.

Female patient, 55 years of age, weighting 145.0 lb, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis  and was treated with Leflunomide. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: coagulopathy, haemorrhagic stroke, hepatic failure, hepatotoxicity, influenza like illness, liver disorder, lung disorder, no therapeutic response. Leflunomide dosage: 10 MG DAILY PO. During the same period patient was treated with HUMIRA. Patient died on 11/23/2005.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cerebrovascular accident, coagulopathy, hepatic failure, nausea , pulmonary embolism . Leflunomide dosage: 10MG. During the same period patient was treated with HUMIRA. Patient died on 11/25/2006.

Female patient, 47 years of age, was diagnosed with cytomegalovirus infection  and was treated with Leflunomide. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cachexia, cytomegalovirus infection , enterococcal bacteraemia, hepatic failure, herpes simplex , hyperbilirubinaemia, pancytopenia. Leflunomide dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with FOSCARNET, GANCICLOVIR, CIDOFOVIR, CORTICOSTEROIDS, CYCLOSPORINE, MYCOPHENOLATE, THALIDOMIDE, RITUXIMAB. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
