Isoniazid Side Effects Report #5090811-4
Isoniazid side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from SPAIN on Aug 15, 2006. Male patient, 39 years of age, was diagnosed with tuberculosis  and was treated with Isoniazid. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: ascites, coagulopathy, cytolytic hepatitis, hepatic atrophy, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic failure, liver transplant , pyrexia, rash . Isoniazid dosage: 300 MG DAILY,. During the same period patient was treated with PYRAZINAMIDE, RIFAMPICIN, VANCOMYCIN, CEFTAZIDIME, ETHAMBUTOL, LEVOFLOXACIN, STREPTOMYCIN, CIPROFLOXACIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Isoniazid dosage: 300 MG. During the same period patient was treated with RIFAMPICIN, ETHAMBUTOL HYDROCHLORIDE, PYRAZINAMIDE. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: gastroenteritis , hepatosplenomegaly, oral candidiasis, pyrexia, treatment noncompliance. Isoniazid dosage: 50 MG DAILY PO. During the same period patient was treated with TRIMETHOPRIM, LAMIVUDINE, LOPINAVIR, STAVUDINE. Patient died on 03/02/2007.
