Imuran and multi-organ failure Patient Reports February 11, 2012

Imuran Side Effects Report #4971656-X
Imuran side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on Feb 28, 2006. Male patient, 58 years of age, was diagnosed with lung transplant  and was treated with Imuran. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, blood bilirubin increased, depressed level of consciousness, haemolytic anaemia, infection , leukoencephalopathy, multi-organ failure, nephropathy toxic, renal disorder. Imuran dosage: 100 MG/DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with NEORAL, SANDIMMUNE, PROGRAF, CELLCEPT. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient died on 02/04/2006.

Female patient, 55 years of age, was diagnosed with crohn's disease , pyoderma gangrenosum and was treated with Imuran. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: aspergillosis, brain mass, candidiasis, cerebral ischaemia, coma, immunosuppression, multi-organ failure, occult blood positive, pericarditis. Imuran dosage: 50 MG;QD;PO. During the same period patient was treated with INFLIXIMAB, PREDNISONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 01/01/2005.

Imuran side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Sept 30, 2008. Male patient, 44 years of age, was treated with Imuran. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: febrile neutropenia, human herpesvirus 8 infection, kaposi's sarcoma , multi-organ failure, pancytopenia, sepsis . Imuran dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with TACROLIMUS, PREDNISOLONE, MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL, PLEURAL EFFUSION, BRONCHIAL HAEMORRHAGE, DYSPNOEA, FEBRILE NEUTROPENIA, SEPSIS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
