Idarubicin Side Effects Report #4901186-2
Idarubicin side effect was reported by a Physician from TURKEY on Jan 19, 2006. Female patient, 36 years of age, was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma and was treated with Idarubicin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, blood pressure increased, blood uric acid increased, convulsion, disease progression, disorientation, grand mal convulsion, haemodialysis. Idarubicin dosage: 10 MG/M2, DAYS 1-2. During the same period patient was treated with CISPLATIN, ETOPOSIDE, METHOTREXATE, IFOSFAMIDE, CYTARABINE, MESNA, DEXAMETHASONE. Patient died.

Female patient, 51 years of age, weighting 209.4 lb, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia and was treated with Idarubicin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacteria urine identified, blood culture positive, cerebellar haemorrhage, confusional state, convulsion, diarrhoea, enterobacter infection, fluid overload, haemodialysis. Idarubicin dosage: 17 MG (QD X 3 DAYS, CYCLIC), INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with CYTARABINE, ETOPOSIDE, ITRACONAZOLE, ALLOPURINOL, NYSTATIN, ONDANSETRON, DEXAMETHASONE, METOCLOPRAMIDE HYDROCHLORIDE. Patient recovered.
