Halfan side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE on Jan 29, 2007. Female patient, 31 years of age, was diagnosed with malaria What is  malaria, malaria prophylaxis and was treated with Halfan. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia macrocytic, cardiac arrest What is  cardiac arrest, cardiac failure, hypotension, loss of consciousness, malaise, thrombocytopenia, torsade de pointes, ventricular tachycardia. Halfan dosage: 500MG THREE TIMES PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with CHLOROQUINE, PROGUANIL. Patient died.

Female patient, 31 years of age, weighting 110.2 lb, was diagnosed with malaria What is  malaria, malaria prophylaxis and was treated with Halfan. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia macrocytic, blood pressure systolic decreased, cardiac arrest What is  cardiac arrest, cardiac failure, electrocardiogram qt prolonged, loss of consciousness, malaise, supraventricular tachycardia, thrombocytopenia. Halfan dosage: 1500MG PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with NIVAQUINE, PALUDRINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 12/10/1993.
