Gentamicin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Feb 03, 2009. Female patient, 74 years of age, weighting 150.3 lb, was diagnosed with klebsiella infection, neutropenia, sputum culture positive and was treated with Gentamicin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: arthralgia, bone pain, hallucination, infusion related reaction, pyrexia. Gentamicin dosage: 300 MG Q24H IV. During the same period patient was treated with CASPOFUNGIN, FUROSEMIDE, PANTOPRAZOLE, PIPERACILLIN AND TAZOBACTAM, POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, ACYCLOVIR. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with ADVAIR DISKUS, PRENATAL VITAMINS, PREDNISONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with PENICILLIN, COUMADIN, METOPROLOL, ASPIRIN, LASIX, VYTORIN, CARDIZEM. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 48 years of age, weighting 227.7 lb, was diagnosed with abdominal infection and was treated with Gentamicin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: body temperature increased, chills, hypotension, infusion related reaction, tremor. Gentamicin dosage: 255MG EVERY 24 HOURS IV (SINGLE DOSE GIVEN). Patient recovered.
