Gatifloxacin Side Effects Report #4830033-2
Gatifloxacin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Nov 15, 2005. Male patient, weighting 136.7 lb, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection  and was treated with Gatifloxacin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: confusional state, hallucination, hyperglycaemia, hypoglycaemia, mental status changes. Gatifloxacin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ACETAMINOPHEN, CALCIUM GLUCONATE, DOCUSATE, METFORMIN, MILK OF MAGNESIA, DOXAZOSIN, HEPARIN. Patient recovered.

Gatifloxacin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from CANADA on May 15, 2006. Female patient, 89 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumonia , sepsis  and was treated with Gatifloxacin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: agitation, delirium, delusion, hallucination, paranoia. Gatifloxacin dosage: INITIAL DOSE 400 MG EVERY OTHER DAY STOPPED RESTARTED AT 400 MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with NIFEDIPINE, ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID SRT, LATANOPROST, DONEPEZIL. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: hallucination. Gatifloxacin dosage: 250MG Q DAY PO. During the same period patient was treated with AMIODARONE, CLOPIDOGREL, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, LISINOPRIL, METOPROLOL TARTRATE, NITROGLYCERIN, OMEPRAZOLE, RISEDRONATE NA. Patient recovered.

Gatifloxacin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with MUCOTRON, LEFTOSE, RIFATAC L, PANTOSIN, MAGNESIUM OXIDE, ADENOSINE TRIPHOSPHATE DI, NITORBIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 03/15/2006.
