Ethambutol side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Nov 01, 2005. Male patient, 71 years of age, was diagnosed with mycobacterium avium complex infection and was treated with Ethambutol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cataract , cerebral atrophy, cerebral ischaemia, chromatopsia, lacunar infarction, maculopathy, optic ischaemic neuropathy. Ethambutol dosage: 1400 MG, QD, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with RIFAMPICIN, CLARITHROMYCIN, LISINOPRIL W. Patient recovered.

Ethambutol dosage: 750 MG, QD. During the same period patient was treated with ISONIAZID, RIFAMPICIN. Patient recovered.
