and was treated with Ethambutol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acid fast bacilli infection, alanine aminotransferase abnormal, dysphagia, dyspnoea, hepatic function abnormal, hepatomegaly, jaundice
. Ethambutol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with RIFAMPICIN, AZATHIOPRINE, ISONIAZID, PYRAZINAMIDE, CELECOXIB, SECOND. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.Ethambutol Side Effects Report #5388668-7
Ethambutol side effect was reported by a Health Professional from AUSTRALIA on June 29, 2007. Male patient, 40 years of age, was diagnosed with mycobacterium avium complex infection and was treated with Ethambutol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acid fast bacilli infection, activities of daily living impaired, acute psychosis, agitation, alanine aminotransferase increased, anaemia, blood culture positive, culture stool positive, delusion of grandeur. Ethambutol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CLARITHROMYCIN, RIFABUTIN, SULFAMETHOXAZOLE AND TRIMETHOPRIM, FLUCONAZOLE, HIV ANTIVIRALS. Patient recovered.
