Etanercept side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Mar 22, 2005. Male patient, 72 years of age, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis  and was treated with Etanercept. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bronchial carcinoma, hypotension, lung abscess, mycobacterial infection, mycobacterium avium complex infection, pulmonary tuberculosis, respiratory failure, septic shock. Etanercept dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with LEFLUNOMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: pneumonia , respiratory failure, septic shock, streptococcal identification test positive. Etanercept dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 52 years of age, weighting 97.66 lb, was diagnosed with prophylaxis against transplant rejection and was treated with Etanercept. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: complications of transplant surgery, cytomegalovirus viraemia, diarrhoea, escherichia sepsis, fanconi syndrome, graft versus host disease, pneumonia , septic shock, somnolence. Etanercept dosage: 25 MG SQ 2X/WEEK. Patient died on 07/14/2005.
