Etanercept side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Mar 22, 2005. Male patient, 72 years of age, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis  and was treated with Etanercept. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bronchial carcinoma, hypotension, lung abscess, mycobacterial infection, mycobacterium avium complex infection, pulmonary tuberculosis, respiratory failure, septic shock. Etanercept dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with LEFLUNOMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cellulitis , chills, glycosylated haemoglobin increased, haematoma, hypotension, immunosuppression, liver function test abnormal, pyrexia, sepsis . Etanercept dosage: 50 MG WEEKLY SQ. During the same period patient was treated with CELECOXIB, ESOMEPRAZOLE MAGNESIUM, FLUTICAS, FUROSEMIDE, GLYBURIDE, HYDROXYZINE, LISINOPRIL, METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with FESO, FOLIC ACID, DOCUSATE, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, SERTRALINE, SEROQUEL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 52 years of age, weighting 98.11 lb, was diagnosed with prophylaxis against transplant rejection and was treated with Etanercept. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cytomegalovirus infection , diarrhoea, escherichia sepsis, fanconi syndrome, graft versus host disease, hypotension, hypoxia, pneumonia , septic shock. Etanercept dosage: 25 MG SQ 2X WEEK. Patient died on 07/14/2005.
