Male patient, 46 years of age, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder  and was treated with Eskalith. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood bicarbonate increased, blood ph increased, convulsion, dehydration, diabetic ketoacidosis, electrolyte imbalance, hyperglycaemia, mania, myocardial infarction. Eskalith dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with RISPERIDONE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
