Diphenhydramine Side Effects Report #5284399-2
Diphenhydramine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Mar 30, 2007. Male patient, 85 years of age, weighting 204.0 lb, was diagnosed with rash pruritic, anxiety  and was treated with Diphenhydramine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: balance disorder, blood glucose decreased, constipation , cough, dyspnoea, hallucination, visual, mental status changes, musculoskeletal stiffness, night sweats. Diphenhydramine dosage: 25 MG BID PO. During the same period patient was treated with ALPRAZOLAM, ASPIRIN, NPH ILETIN II, DOXYCYCLINE, FLUOCINONIDE, SIMVASTATIN, TERAZOSIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with AMITRIPTYLINE, WARFARIN, INSULIN, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, LEVOTHYROXINE, QUINAPRIL, ATORVASTATIN CALCIUM, METOPROLOL. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: delirium, mental status changes. Diphenhydramine dosage: 50MG ONCE IV. During the same period patient was treated with PHYSOSTIGMINE, ESOMEPRAZOLE MAGNESIUM, DIGOXIN, HEPARIN, ASPIRIN, METOPROLOL TARTRATE, HALOPERIDOL, LISINOPRIL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Diphenhydramine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ACTIVATED CHARCOAL, CITALOPRAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
