Male patient, 61 years of age, was diagnosed with sedation and was treated with Diazepam. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alcohol withdrawal syndrome, anion gap increased, blood bicarbonate increased, blood osmolarity increased, blood ph decreased, hypertension, pyrexia. Diazepam dosage: 4850 MG OVER 5 DAYS, IV. During the same period patient was treated with PROPYLENE GLYCOL, PHENYTOIN. Patient recovered.
