Desyrel and dysphagia Patient Reports February 11, 2012

Desyrel Side Effects Report #5506106-8
Desyrel side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from CANADA on Oct 31, 2007. Female patient, 91 years of age, weighting 90.39 lb, was diagnosed with depression  and was treated with Desyrel. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: dysphagia, pneumonia aspiration. Desyrel dosage: DOSE:350MG DAILY THEN 400 MG THEN 350MG DAILY AND THEN DECREASED TO LOWER DOSE.. During the same period patient was treated with OLANZAPINE, ATIVAN. Patient died on 01/29/2007.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: dysphagia, hypokalaemia, urinary retention. Desyrel dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with SOLANAX, LUDIOMEL, COLONEL, TOLEDOMIN, DEXART. Patient recovered.
