Desmopressin Side Effects Report #5947668-6
Desmopressin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from JAPAN on Oct 28, 2008. Female patient, child 7 years of age, was diagnosed with enuresis and was treated with Desmopressin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , blood sodium decreased, chest discomfort, coma, convulsion, depressed level of consciousness, mydriasis, therapeutic response decreased. Desmopressin dosage: 10 MCG/20 MGC/20 MCG/20 MCG IN. During the same period patient was treated with DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE, DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE, DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE, TOFRANIL, ERYTHROMYCIN ETHYLSUCCINATE, CARBOCISTEINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Desmopressin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE, DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE, DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE, TOFRANIL, ERYTHROMYCIN ETHYLSUCCINATE, CARBOCISTEINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 79 years of age, was diagnosed with diabetes insipidus  and was treated with Desmopressin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: aspiration, central pontine myelinolysis, cerebrovascular accident, depressed level of consciousness, hypernatraemia, hyponatraemia, urine output increased. Desmopressin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with DESMOPRESSIN ACETATE, PREDNISONE, RANITIDINE, LEVOTHYROXINE, LORAZEPAM, FINASTERIDE, GALANTAMINE HYDROBROMIDE, INSULIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
