Desferal Side Effects Report #6129358-2
Desferal side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on Mar 17, 2009. Female patient, 70 years of age, was diagnosed with iron overload, myelodysplastic syndrome and was treated with Desferal. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac failure, febrile neutropenia, hepatic failure, hyperthermia, pancytopenia, renal failure. Desferal dosage: 1000 MG. During the same period patient was treated with EXJADE, THYRADIN S, PRIMOBOLAN, TAKEPRON, AMINO ACIDS, DECADRON. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 12/23/2008.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: aspergillosis, candida sepsis, chills, febrile bone marrow aplasia, haemoglobin decreased, herpes zoster, histiocytosis haematophagic, pancytopenia, platelet count decreased. Desferal dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with NEORECORMON, GRANOCYTE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
